My jumping bean

March 16th, 2010 , Posted in Bella, Personal

Anyone who knows my Bella knows that she cannot sit still for very long. She’s not exactly a hyper little thing-except in the evening when she’s tired-it’s just that the concept of walking does not exist to her. She hops, skips, bounces, jumps, leaps and pirouettes to get where she needs to go. Damian and I just laugh when we see her coming and the famous phrase around here is “does that girl even know how to walk”? I love it, though. She just seems so happy and floaty all the time. Like she’s always trying to dance her way through life. And what could be better then that, right?

Our new baby, workshops and 2010 portrait schedule

March 15th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized

As I mentioned on the blog earlier, we are thrilled to welcoming another sweet little baby girl to our family this summer. Our newest Profancik member is due August 1 and the anticipation is building! Of course having a new baby will change my work schedule for a while and I wanted to make some announcements about my upcoming schedule so my portrait clients and workshop attendees can plan ahead.

I’ll be taking very limited portrait commissions until July 16th and then will on maternity leave until sometime in September. Watch the blog for info on when I’ll be available after the birth of our little girl.

I am conducting 2 more workshops for the 2010 year and then I’ll be taking some extended time away from teaching. I don’t plan on holding another workshop until at LEAST the fall of 2011 so if you wanted to attend a MiaBella workshop this is your last chance for quite a while. I’m holding a two day MiaBella workshop in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area on May 3-4 and only have 3 seats left for this one. I’m also holding another two day workshop in Dayton, Ohio on April 23-24. Please visit my workshop site at http://leahprofancik.com/photographers for more info and to register.

I had an incredible time last month in San Luis Obispo teaching a workshop in conjunction with Joy Vertz . We had a lovely group of women attend and I enjoyed getting to know each and every one of them. It’s amazing how so there were so many different backgrounds, even different goals and dreams to pursue in photography…and each person walked away refreshed and renewed in their vision. We were thrilled with the outcome of the workshop and hope to hold more in the future.

Here are some images from my last workshop (more to come!).
